Fire up the grill for the ultimate steakhouse burger! This burger is stacked high with flavor and toppings – onion straws, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a special steakhouse mayo.

Directions

Step 1

To make Onion Straws: Pour buttermilk in a baking dish and add 1 sliced onion, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Step 2

Combine flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, black pepper, salt, and corn meal and set aside.

Step 3

Heat 1 quart of canola oil to 375°.

Step 4

Remove onions from buttermilk and toss onions in flour mixture until fully coated. Place onions into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Step 5

To prepare Steakhouse Burgers: Grill burgers on the grill over medium heat 4 to 6 minutes per side or until burgers are cooked through (internal temperature of 160ºF). Add cheese slices to burgers 1 minute before cooking is completed.

Step 6

Grill pickle slices 2 to 3 minutes per side or until grill marks appear.

Step 7

Butter the open-side of the buns and toast on the grill, about 30 seconds.

Step 8

Assemble steakhouse burger with onion straws and toppings of your choice.
