Combine the classic macaroons with a blossom cookie, and you have Chocolate Kissed Coconut Macaroons. Combine flaky sweetened coconut flakes and cream cheese for a chewy cookie on the inside with toasted coconut on the outside. Top with a chocolate kiss for a rich and dreamy cookie this holiday season.

Step 1

Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl, and set aside.

Step 2

Beat butter, cream cheese, and sugar with a hand mixer or stand mixer in a large bowl until well blended.

Step 3

Add egg yolk, almond extract, and orange juice; beat well.

Step 4

Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in 3 cups of coconut.

Step 5

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour.

Step 6

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 7

Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll balls in the remaining 2 cups of coconut. Place on an ungreased or parchment-lined cookie sheet.

Step 8

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven; immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.

Step 9

Cool 1 minute; carefully remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
